Invest in Yourself for free online

Published by nancyscorner under Career & Work Edit This

Invest your time in self learning online for free. You will not receive a degree nor a certificate the free online courses is basic knowledge for you to know. To have basic knowledge of a subject that you know nothing about and you are willing to learn it; is a very good thing, because then you can converse or write about the subject that you have learn to your colleagues or readers.

Everyday is a learning experience and if you can expand your mind to more knowledge, why not? I’ve learned various business courses online and I’m currently enrolled in a few more courses one of them is called “Start-Up Basics for the First-Time Entrepreneur“.  I’ve taken this course before about two years ago, but this particular one is up-to-date it’s basically a refresher course for me and the other courses are non-related to business, all for free.  One of the non-related courses is digital photography, which I love.  Once I feel comfortable in taking pictures I may incorporate this into my business, but for now I’m experimenting on taking pictures for my home.

Follow these simple steps to get you going…

1.  I decided to take up business courses, being that I operate a home based business I needed more information on business administration. What do you want to learn? Do you want learn for yourself or to update your skills for your career?

2.  I dedicate my time at least one hour a day per lesson five days a week. Most of the lessons that I am enroll in are no more than 20 minutes or less.  Depending on the ease of the course it can take me at least an hour to go through two to three courses. How many hours can you devote yourself?  You decide what hours are best for you and what days works for you?

3.  While you are learning from your course try to implement it into your life, don’t just learn it.  Depending on what course you are enroll in try to use it as much as you can in your everyday activities.

Let me know what courses you have taken or thinking about enrolling in.  Do you need help in finding a course?

Leave me comment, I will try my best to find a free online course suitable for you.

Resume Objectives

Published by nancyscorner under Career & Work Edit This

An objective statement is a short summary with two to three sentences stating your experience, skills, and your qualifications. By writing your objective statement it improves your resume by pointing out your main qualifications and it shows what type of position you are seeking.

Don’t create a general statement have more than one resume objective available. You may want to distribute your resume to more than one organization tailored to the position available.

For ex.

A position allowing me to utilize my knowledge and qualifications in your company.

Think about what the reader is thinking right about now.  What kind of position is this person seeking? What kind of qualifications can this person contribute to my company?

Be very detailed in writing your resume objective. Besides your name your objective is pretty much the first thing your reader will see, so make it pop out.

Resume Objective Formats

Format 1: A position as a [name or type of position] allowing me to use my [qualifications]

Format 2: To utilize my [qualifications] as a [position title]

Format 3: An opportunity to [your professional goals] in a[type of organization, or field]

Format 4: To enter [type of organization, or field] allowing me to use my [qualifications]

Format 5: To [professional goal]

Format 6 :An opportunity to [professional goal]

Format 7: [position name]

Start with the above formats or tailor it to your own.  Be very specific in detailing your qualifications.

Good Luck

School Uniforms

Published by nancyscorner under School Edit This

Would you like to see your child wearing school uniforms?

Instead of buying regular schools clothes every year, if you had a choice would you like to see your child/children in school uniforms or regular clothing.

My daughter gave me a four page letter from the Board of Education the 1st page stated…

last year parents inquire of school uniform dress code, the board of ed has expressed that parents and teachers in all schools

be surveyed in writing on whether sufficient sentiment exists to implement school uniforms consistent with existing board policy.

The 2nd page was the “School Uniform Survey” in the survey it had two questions, along with comment sections.

        1.    Are you in favor of school uniforms?  Yes/No

        2.    If yes, do you have a vision of what you would like to see our students wearing?

The 3rd and 4th page was the “Policy Manual for Student Dress” basically the do’s and don’ts of the school dress code.

I’m all for the uniforms, it will be less expensive than regular clothes.   What do you think?
